About me
Hi I'm Craftsychick! And welcome to my world of crafting!!
On these pages, you will find a galore of beautifully crocheted products and discover a number of cool crochet and knitting classes for kids and adults.
Just to alleviate any wanderers' questions...everything on this site has been created by yours truly and her talented and rebellious (although you would never tell at first glance) younger sister. (see photos on the website)
And finally here is my Bio (written in 3rd person, so that it doesn't sound all conceited):
Lucie (pronounced Lut-tz-ieh, as it is a Czech name) is the founder and the prime "chick" crochet fairy at the Craftsychick enterprise. She is a senior who is also a competitive figure skater and uses most of the revenue to fund her figure skating training and gear.
One day in 3rd grade handwork class ("handwork" is used as a noun, in this case, to talk about a class in a waldorf school), Lucie was taught how to make a large crochet bag. So she thought to herself, "Maybe I should try to replicate it at home?" So she did and it was a big, fat failure. "No sweat" she thought to herself. (she was much easier on herself then for some reason) and just decided to pivot (another grand move according to Elon Mask probably) and created a water bottle holder. We won't bother you with the details but feel free to ask her for a full story when you see her in a class. (or just drop her an email below...info@craftsychick.com)
A water bottle holder was a novelty that was immediately embraced by the entire family and approved by a small circle of customers. (mostly school friends, teachers and figure skating friends)
All of sudden, expensive water bottles stopped denting when dropped, became a hit in a yoga class, and kept water warm during the cold wintery days.
Since then Lucie and her sister Michaela went on to develop a large portfolio of products as well as a line of seasonal and custom-made products.
During COVID Lucie began offering online crocheting classes that allowed kids to feel excited about craft and create things by hand that they were proud of. In the last almost three years she has taught group and individual classes for children (as young as 5 years old) and adults with great success. Lucie's students describe her as "fun, patient, creative and a great teacher." If you peruse the site, you will see some of the work created by the young crafters. One of her students even went on to establish her own Etsy shop of online crochet products.
When not crocheting, Lucie spends her days on the ice, training and dreaming big dreams. She enjoys school, mostly math, history and chemistry and loves hanging out with her friends.
